Sarracenia 2018

There appears to be a shortage of Sarracenia flowers on this forum - I have a couple here so have photo will post.

I repotted the vast majority of the Sarracenia this year. This is something of an occasion as I rarely do so.

The plants are all happy in their new long tom pots and I'm having to look up at the pitchers in the lagoons.

Those flava are really something. Looks like there's a rubra hanging out in front with them too.

Adding onto the flowers open so far I have a pretty late blooming Rubra. It's definitely one of the nicer smelling sarrs, somewhere between soda and berries.

Lynda Butt has been shooting skyward whilst I was away. She's now this much taller than the others around her.

S. psittacina Gulf Coast Giant

I don't normally pay a lot of attention to the S psittacina flowers as they're so late in the season and there's other things to attract my attention at that time of the season. However, with the mass re-pot this year this one now stares at me when I enter the greenhouse and I attempt to duck the webs.

A quick look and there's something different. A petal out of place perhaps? So I lifted a petal and there's another underneath. Try a different petal and the same result. Both flowers have double petals.

I must pay more attention in future.
