Salvage broken D. multifida stem

I was pruning dead leaves off my D. multifida by plucking them off. One of them wasn't quite completely dried yet and I plucked a bit too hard and it ripped the entire stem of the plant from the root system.

I took the stem and put it in a cup of long fiber sphagnum and covered in a zip lock bag for humidity.

I also took a somewhat old flower stalk (still blooming, but only a couple flowers left to go), chopped into 2 inch pieces, and floated them in water to see if I can get some propagations.

Not sure what's going to bounce back or survive. Any other suggestions to improve my chances?

You didn't mention putting the cuttings in bright light, though I assume you have. This is essential to forming new plants and new roots. This group of sundews is usually very willing to form new plantlets and new roots so it's a good choice for this kind of treatment.

Thanks yes. Main stem and cuttings are in bright light.
