safe enamel?

any idea if there is a safe non toxic spray enamel i could use in my terrarium?

what are you trying to paint? When I used to show aquarium fish, we would tape off all the sides and top of the tank and spray the bottom and back glass with regular black spray paint.

I have made a faux background in my tank from foam, silicone and sand...the sand is pretty flaky and i was thinking that i should enamel it?

Enamel is oil based so there will be fumes etc.

Once I tried to set the sand in fiberglass resin and some of it stayed in place. The resin 'wicked' itself up to the sand that wasn't in the resin and kinda stuck, but if you touched it a lot it would brush off as not alot of the resin had bonded itself to the sand.
