Do heliamphora produce stolons? I was looking at my heli this morning and saw 2 new sideshoots and a small plant forming about 4 inches away from the growing part of the plant with no rhysome (SP) under it. Sorry i can't provide pics i have a mac and don't know how to post pics as it is different from other computers. ???

I've come across this question before and there does not seem to be conclusive evidence that heliamphora produces stolons. What you might be seeing is new growth coming from a previously dormant area on the rhizome.

Some do, some don't. Or maybe I should say few do, most don't. If I recall H. ionasii tends to make underground shoots..

In order to post a photo you need to upload it to a photo hosting website first. Then put in the link when posting here.
