put seeds on new or old peat

Should i put some seeds on new peat or old one?, the old is full of bugs, gnats or that other tings silver/brown color., Oh my god.

Generally, if it makes you say "Oh my god" then you don't want to use it.

Excellent point. Especially useful if you live in an area with a lot of clay where all you can really do is add organic matter. Just don't add sand, or you'll end up with adobe.
