Purple trumpet pitcher questions

I have a small purple/trumpet pitcher plant. I can still see the remains of a bug from like a month ago! is that normal? and does the food that you feed it ever actually disolve? Because I fed one of it's pores 2 flies in a month total and I can still see them stacked...is that...normal?

It only dissolves the soft parts,while the exosceletons remain.
