I guess by now everyone knows about Triantha occidentalis being determined to be a true carnivore, but the 2 accepted species of the genus found in the eastern US both demonstrate the same mechanism of trapping prey, it's just that the nutrient transport hasn't been proven in them. Supposedly the northernmost of the eastern species, T. racemosa is next in line to get the full treatment, so stay tuned. This plant is an outlier, grown from seed collected at one of several locations in Burlington County NJ where either a distinct species occurs, or more likely the result of a natural hybridization with T. glutinosa. Glutinosa is found in the SE US, while racemosa as mentioned is a more northerly species. Their ranges meet in NJ.
