Polygala lutea Question

Hey all. I received a Polygala lutea plant from someone who considered it a bog weed about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, thinking that it would help the plant conserve energy, I pinched off the orange flower head. I read after the fact that orange milkwort is a biennial. Should I expect P. lutea to try and flower again? Will it continue to grow and come back next year since it did not get to flower? I know that things like raspberries are perennial underground but shoot up biennial aboveground parts--is P. lutea the exact same way or does it die completely after its second year? Should I just ask for another one and not clip the head?
