Pictures of my auriculata

Heres some pictures of my auriculata just starting to bloom. well some of the stalks are but they still got some growing to do matter of fact some are just popping up out of the ground.

What are those sticks coming out of the pot? Decoration or do they serve some functional purpose?

I don't know for sure but I'd guess they are something for the plants to "scramble" on if they feel the need. I do the same for my macrantha
