Peat Pellets To Germinate Seeds

Can I use these peat pellets to germinate CP seeds? What if I use tap water on seeds will they have any effect? I think the peat pellets need warm water to expand so I might have to use tap.

Why not just warm up some of the water you use for watering?

I would but I think that the pellets need some kind of pressure so that they can fully break open and expand.

they expand fine with cold water.

I think my housemate used what you're describing for his vegetable seeds...all you need is warm water. any water will do. the pellets are just dehydrated and compressed. once you add water, they soak it all up and expand again. like a sponge.
