Years ago Barry Rice distributed some U. humboldii seed from plants in cultivation. I was fortunate to obtain some (I believe there is an old post on this). As you can see from the pictures below for some reason stolons with bladders often grow out of the media. My conjecture is that this is one means of propagating from one Bromeliad to another. I'm growing these in a soda bottle terrarium in shaded light indoors. Slurry of peat moss and LFS for media.
