(PAID) (Est $9) Wild Dewberry Plants (Rubus flagellaris)

  • Thread starter Acro
  • Start date
5 Wild Dewberry plants (Rubus flagellaris) are up for auction.

Their flavor is quite pleasurable; sweet and somewhat like red wine. The flavor is different from anything you'll find in the store. Related to Blackberries, they are native to the Southeast, and collected wild right here in Savannah, GA.

Rubus flagellaris is a low growing plant with sprawling vines. In Spring, they produce lovely white flowers that attract pollinators. The berries start out green, turn red, then dark purple when ripe. Dewberries aren't too picky about soil, and seem to be drought tolerant. They have thorns, so wear gloves when dealing with them. Grow them up a trellis for easy berry picking! They were found (and still are) growing in dappled shade, and will be dug up after you win the auction.

Shipping is $9 for the USA.
Here are example photos of the berries and vine (not my photos).
