Drosera hamiltonii from different locations

Bid on two plants, mature flowering size one each from different locations. As labeled West Australia and Esperance, WA. This species is self-incompatible so two genetically different plants are needed to make seed.

Drosera hamiltonii has long been relegated to be a beginners plants. Even so it has its challenges for even experienced growers:
  • Dew production - much of the time the tentacles look dry (they're not) - but capable of large droplets
  • color - given the right lighting and temperatures the tentacles and leaves can take on a deep rich, chocolaty almost purplish red
  • flowers - large or deep pots (at least six inches tall) help as well as cool winter temps (above frost levels).
  • seeds - genetically different plants needed (as well as flowers, obviously)
