Pinguicula 'Pirouette' is the name for a cultivar, not the name of a hybrid, generally CP hybrids are not given names, but often destinct clones (unique individual plants - species or hybrids) can be propagated and registered as cultivars. You can find out more about

The cultivar description in the CP Database will usually let you know what size the cultivar can attain. In my collection this cultivar usually grows to about 6-8" in diameter. Again, though it originated by hybridization, it is misleading to simply call it a hybrid, the name
Pinguicula 'Pirouette' refers to a cultivar (cultivated variety), which would be any plant that exactly matches the published cultivar description and photographic standard, regardless of origins. Conceivably a plant matching this cultivar could be produced using entirely different parents.
Using an "X" as a prefix in the name to indicate the plant is of hybrid origins is outdated terminology and is no longer correct.
CP hybrids are denoted by hybrid formula, e.g. (
Pinguicula agnata x
Pinguicula gypsicola), [(
Pinguicula esseriana x
Pinguicula moranensis) x
Pinguicula agnata], and it is perfectly acceptable to use registered cultivar names if they are involved in creating hybrids, e.g.
Pinguicula 'Pirouette' x
Pinguicula ehlersiae.
