offshoot?? newbie needs some help

ok..i saw a bud like thing rising from the pot soil..

and it looks like some kind offshoot...

if it is.. what do you do with it?

and do you think thats why my plant only produced leaves?

Yes, that is most like a basal shoot. I would wait until it gets a bit bigger, before you think about cutting it for a new plant.

Some people just let the basal growth grow and it eventually becomes a faster growing plant than the original growth point.

I like to make new plants from them, though.

Patience, It will take it awhile , several months, to get big enough to pitcher.
