New Nepenthes Books

My "Pitcher Plants of the Old World" Vol. 1 & 2 finally arrived yesterday. These books are tremendous. Stayed up til 2AM reading Vol. 1. Any nepenthes enthusiast needs to have these books in their library.

I have Pitcher Plants of the Americas and Glistening Carnivores. Great books!

I'm hope to get my hands on Pitcher Plants of the Old World Vol. 1 & 2 soon as well......

Just did a search and found them available here in the US. Just placed my order. Can't wait till they get here! :banana2:

I just talked with Stewart and he confirmed the preorder books BEGAN shipping June 19th via surface. I am sure they didn't get every preorder shipped on that day. So 4-6 weeks after that date roughly.

I just received both books yesterday, what have now been referred to as my shameless "pitcher plant porn," considering that I was up well after midnight flipping through them. The books are indeed beautiful and far more readable than the previous tweedy, pith-helmet laden "scholarly" texts, most now long-out-of-print and often running hundreds of dollars. Strangely enough, I've seen both titles at California vendors for weeks, though it took over six to get them shipped from the UK . . .

Both books came today... :banana2::banana2:

Holy Crap!~!

I had to get a bib so the drool would not make my pages stick together. :-))

Forgot to post this.

Does anyone else have Volume #1 that the binding upside down? Or do I have a very rare error printing? LOL

My copies finally arrived today. It took just over seven weeks. I want to say it was worth the wait, but I wish they had given people that made advance orders the option to make an additional payment for air shipment. That's with hindsight, of course.

That said, the books are beautiful! A massive amount of text and loads of beautiful images. Can't wait to dig in tonight...

(BTW, for those of you that are within a reasonable distance, Stewart McPherson and Barry Rice are joining Peter D'Amato at California Carnivores August 23rd.)
