I got some 'Akai Ryu' from Andrew the last week of March, and as I was potting them, I removed some of the outter leaves that I figured wouldn't live much longer anyway. I decided to try putting them into LFS instead of just tossing them and voila, lookie what's popped up.

How far back were they cut?

Judging from the photos they were not cut but pulled off the plant. The pullings you see contain more than just the part of the leaf that sticks out of the ground but also a piece of the rhizome

That leaf pulling really took off! Never seen one do it that fast before........and for an old feaf too!

Yep, they are leaf pullings, and here it is with it's siblings 11 days later.
