Neps at Chelsea flower show (video)

So that makes me wonder what kind of gas Nephenthes use to inflate their pitchers. One would assume oxygen, but I'm really curious now. Anybody hear of any studies done on this?

I don't think neps use any special 'gas' to inflate.
the pitchure just grows and inflates on it's own. tissue is permeable and lets air in and out. the pitchures hold digestive fluids because water molecules are bigger than air molecules. think gore-TEX
peace,
Adam
