I just got a N. Talangensis that was advertised as having a bright red peristome. I was wondering if it will change color over time or did I end up with the greenish peristome variety.
I have other young plants with very red peristome and that is why I am wondering about this one.
Thank you.
If the pitcher recently opened up it will almost certainly darken with age. I have also sometimes found that the peristomes in young plants can be much greener than the pitchers produced on a larger specimen. I would give it some time. Especially if it was advertised as being a bright red color
N. talangensis pitchers open that color; pale pinky-red with a green peristome, but they darken over the weeks and the epitome turns red. Not to worry ;-)
