Nepenthes Cuttings

Can I only make a cutting from the green sections? My Nep has a long woody brown stem, can I take the cutting from there?

I wouldn't. I can never get that part to root.

You just take cuttings from the green part. There's no way to stop the woody part from forming. That's just the growth habit of these plants.

Actually it is possible to get cuttings of the woody stem but it can take a bit of doing. Best way to go is to take a cutting of all green of the plant and wait for a dormant bud on the woody part to pop up. let that grow for a bit then cut the woody stem below the new start. And then repeat the process till there is no more woody stem left.
