Nepenthes chaniana x veitchii

Just a simple question.
Silly me trying to see inside of a pitcher on my Nepenthes chaniana x veitchii and the lid broke off,will the pitcher now die off or keep on living?The plant itself is doing great and has produced another two pitchers so it looks like the plant hasn't gone into shock and the pitcher hasn't changed colour.

the pitcher will die adventually of course...but i doubt it will die from the lid snapping off though it might speed it up a bit...i doubt it though...i was just looking at my chaniana x veitchii earlier actually lol.

The pitcher did slowly die off but the plant quickly picked up and is producing very nice pitchers.
