need help getting an RO unit

quoted verbatim from ZeroWater website:

If your water reads 200 ppm, one filter will last approximately 25 gallons. If your water reads higher, you will filter less gallons; if your water is lower than 200 ppm, you will be able to filter more.

I use 3-5 gallon a day, so I would have to replace it weekly... owie,

I wanna get an RO unit, cause I use those Brita filters now. But RO's are kinda expensive. Thats the problem. :(

I find that they're not so much expensive, as their technology is confusing...

What to look for and what is not needed for CP's and/or drinking water etc.
