That was great. I need to go there. Did you shoot that with a gopro? and how was it mounted to your kayak? I built a mount on my kayak for my camera. The view on mine is very similar to yours.

Gopros can probably be mounted quite easily to any surface using an adapted sink plunger...

It was beautiful there. Definitely going back.
It's Merchants Millpond in NC; and a few pics are of Lake Drummond in The Great Dismal Swamp VA which was 45 minutes away.

I was looking at a Gopro and decided I could get better use out of the Kodak Playsport Zx5. I will admit the quality from the Gopro is much better, but like I said, more uses with the Kodak for me. I just added a 180 degree additional lens. You can see the field of view difference from the first rainy video to the remaining rainy ones. The water fogged up the lens after the first video, so I took it off.
I need to make a good mount for carrying the recorder. I have not really done any outfitting yet to the boat. Need to do a few over night trips to see what I want to do.

When that is not on it has a nice flat area that I was able to use this; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Flip-Action...841?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c64b1179
fit perfectly in the flat spot without the pod. I used the velcro on the deck bungees, and even tied the lanyard from the Playsport to a bungee. I want to make something to keep the deck pod on, which will also get it a little higher.

I checked out your playsport. it seems like a nice camera. How is the battery life on it?

The way you had it mounted looks like it worked nice for you. I went to walmart and bought a cheap tripod. I took the camera off of the legs. I then drilled a hole in the top of my kayak. I mounted a stainless steel bolt in the hole with the threads sticking out the top of the kayak. I screwed the camera mount onto the stainless steel bolt. I used an extra stainless steel nut to screw up to the mount to keep it tight. So I have a fully functional camera mount on my kayak. If you're interested I can get some pics of the way I have it mounted.

Battery life is tolerable, maybe about 2 hours. The bad thing is it's not interchangeable, so you have to charge it. Wall or usb. Lasted me several video clips for the 3 days without recharging.

I would also suggest this lens, not as wide but also has a macro.

That's the lens, macro, I used on this Triops video, plus the digital zoom, which I was impressed with for a digital zoom.

I can understand how you mounted it to the boat.
I'll figure something out and then have the metal shop punch and break it for me to fit over top the deck pod.

B & H has the Kodak Playsport Zx5 on sale for $99.00 right now. I think it's worth that.

I looked quickly, but could not find the pictures; I want to attempt this. The camera was mounted in the very back of the boat, raised up about 4' with a wide angle lens. You could see all but the very back of the boat. The paddler and skyline ahead was in the pictures. It was a very unique prospective.
