My pitcher has a hole in it :-s

Loves VFT's!
I got a new pitcher on my N.copelandii and now it's a nice size,but...there's a big hole in the bottom side of the pitcher. So it can't fill up with that special juice it has cause it keeps dripping out.Anybody know why there would be a hole in the pitcher?I've never heard of this before, but then again I'm very new to CP's.Thanks a bunch

Sorry about that. *Niki*

Most likely a wasp/yellow jacket/ or other bug that can chew its way out. If there is water in the pitcher.. usually they can't chew out.

Others will chime in with info on how to avoid this.

Stinks though!

Niki,

Slug, snail in the wet or rain, caterpillar, moth anytime.
New pitchers tend to be soft so it could have been either. You should do a throrough inspection to find the culprit and then feed it to your nep.

Niki, I feel your pain.

My highland truncata was DROPPED (ARG!!!), and the biggest (read: also newest) pitcher had it's bottom all craked open. I wrapped it in cling wrap in hopes of keeping the pitcher alive longer....Don't really expect it to catch anything, but at least I can keep it LOOKING nice, if I'm lucky.

Why you don't post a photo of the Copelandii pitcher? I also have a 1 meter copelandii plant. Let me know!
Bye
