If it's a female you'll need pollen, if it's a male you can send the pollen to someone else if you don't have a female in flower, and split the seed 50/50.

The flowers are just round balls (buds) right now. I have to wait until the flowers open before I can tell correct?

It's a male, assuming it's reasonably well developed.

Males are round like peas and females are elongated like REALLY fat rice.


If you want to pollinate a female it's best to start looking for a stud now. I think you can freez/refridgerate it, but i'm not 100% sure on freezing.
