Mutated Traps

I recently cut off a trap that was brown, and in it's place two new traps are forming. Has this happened to anyone else before, and what are the chances that both traps will fully develop on the one stem?(keeping my fingers crossed that both traps develop!!!)

Picture please. I have never seen a trap regrow on the end of a leaf, but heck what do I know.
