This moss grows around our pond, in the swamp-like areas. I was wondering what kind of moss it is and if it would be suitable to use in potting mixtures (dried or alive)
If you're not finding CPs such as Drosera, Utricularia or Pinguicula in the same area I wouldn't put that stuff anywhere near my CPs. Some of the decorative mosses (e.g. Green or Spanish) sold in garden supply stores will kill your CPs.
I live in Belgium (europe) as far as I know CP's don't grow in the wild here at all. Best to not use it in any potting mixtures, even though this moss can easily hold quite abit of water
