Mammillaria prolifera flowering

I just noticed today that my Mammillaria prolifera is flowering.

This plant grew from an unrooted pup I had purchased for 25 cents at a local Cactus & Succulent Society sale a few years back.

These plants are very easy to grow and because they pup so easily, they readily spread across a pot.

I'd read somewhere that the fruit of this species is supposed to taste somewhat like strawberries, but after just sampling an older fruit, I'd say the flavor reminded me more of a Kiwi fruit.
