Hello! I just obtained a small nepenthes truncata and I'd like to grow it in my room with artificial lighting, but I'm not sure what type of lighting I should use. What would you guys recommend?
For artificial lighting the two options that people use are florescent and LED lights. Florescent lights are easy to set up as all you have to do is buy the fixture and hang it. You can do the same with prefabricated LED's or buy the components and build your own LED set up. My only recommendation is to start big. Something like a 4ft shop light fixture is good for this. It's easier to have too extra space underneath your lights than to upgrade your space for every plant you get if you went with something smaller.
I used a fixture similar to this one. They're easy enough to hang onto a shelving rack and 4 bulbs put out enough light to get good color onto a lot of plants.
