light and algae growth?

I have my first Amp growing well in a small terrarium. It's in its own pot and is growing in pure LFS moss. There is live LFP growing on the LFS mulch which forms the substrate outside of the pot, yet some of it is becoming extreamly green and I take this to be algae. Now, is one light, say your basic cool whites, better than others, for example grow lux, in slowing the rate of such growth. Alternatively, how do I get rid of the gunk and will it harm either my plant or the LFP?
