Lifespan of New Trap

My south West Giant has just grown a 1.5" trap. It is also quite red. I want to keep this trap for as long as possible, because it maekes the plant look very healthy. I am not going to feed this trap, how long will it last ?

It will probably live for at least 2 months if you leave it alone or feed it once.
