Is my venusta sick?

At the beginning of the summer I put my D. venusta outdoors in a container with water in part sun. After a couple weeks all the leaves turned a dark red color, which I was not terribly concerned about. It has had 2-3 healthy leaves with dew ever since, but has not grown much in size. It took a turn for the worst this last week, and most of the leaves have turned brown and have no more dew. Am I doing something wrong, or is there something else I can do for it?

These grow best in cool conditions. Try moving it to get morning sun only.

Deeper/tall pots seem better also. Tray water enough to just touch the roots.
