Ideal Temperature

What would be the ideal temperature while I strafity these seeds? If I leave them in a screaned unheated porched they freeze. If I leave them in my back hall they will be at about 50F in the day and colder at night. If I put them in the fridge they could be at about 40F but get no air circulation. Help me out people.

I stratify my seed in the crisper draw of my fridge, and have had few problems. I place the seed on damp/wet paper within screwtop plastic tubes. All components (including water) are microwave-sterilized before use. I check on the seed every couple of weeks to see how they are doing.

Good luck.

Last winter, I stratified my temperate sundews using two methods:

1.  I placed a bag over the pots and set them in my fridge.
2.  I placed the pots outside late winter-early spring.

Both methods worked, although the pots that were in the fridge had a better germination rate.  The pots outside froze a couple times, and I think some of the seeds became dehydrated.
