ID needed

Thought I was familiar with bugs but I'm seeing this for the first time. It was curled up in soil in an unplanted pot. Looks kinda like a pillbug but it's big, soft and squishy; just like a caterpillar. Burrows very fast.

Any ideas ?

larvae of scarab beetle. Cant say which one. not familiar with insects in your part of the world.... If I had to guess genus Protaetia.
 
I hope it's one of those big iridescent ones. I was seeing them around in the pots a few months ago. Wonderful, thank you for your help!

edit: Wow, you are an expert alright! Protaetia seems right, I see them in my pots now and then.
