How's this camera?

Casio Z1000 10.1 MP or Casio EX-Z850 8.1 MP

So i think the first is better but the second is alot cheaper...is it capable of a good macro function??

I'm including links from the website that I use when compairing cameras for the 2 you mentioned.
I did not read the reviews, just scrolled down to the question you were asking about macro. Looks like both cameras have very close focusing distances.

Casio? Fuji, Canon and Sony do better digi cams usually.

I would add Nikon and remove Sony of that list. Even that Sony has pretty good cams, they also have some chronical problems, specially the compact ones(I had one P-100 and have the P-200). They easilly get "dust bunnys" that they shouldn't as being compacts and should have sealed sensors. The cams that usually get dust bunnys are the ones that can change lens (SLR's) and sometimes dust gets in the cam sensor.
