How low can you go?

For a typical highlander (say N. spathulata) just how low can the temps get before the plant begins to suffer?

My highlanders really slow down or stop growing when daytime temps stay in the 60s and night time temps go into the 40s or upper 30s. I think they will survive as long as you avoid frost.
