In summer eve
so fair and warm
they slinked and skulked
a raccoon swarm!

And ripping screens
from Nep abode
commenced their work,
callous death bestowed!

With nary thought
of meal or need
the vandals did
their evil deed.

A nipped grow tip:
precision work--
no doubt eliciting
a raccoon smirk.

And leaving their victims
to waste away
and doting keeper
to wail his dismay

the devil's spawn
masked and clawed
stole away
on agile paw.
