How deep should the peat be?

I was thinking of making a mini bog and putting all my VFT's and some sundews in it using a seed tray. How deep does it need to be for adult VFT's?

I use pots that are about 4" deep and I have never had any problems.

I just repotted a vft and the roots were about 6" long.I would say 4" like Jeremaih said or deeper.

The deeper and larger the better. The greater the volume, the less likely your minibog will have large fluctuations in moisture and temperature.

How important is the sand? I made an 8'x8'x8". It cost me like $300 to fill it with play sand and peat. The peat was cheap. The sand is $2.95 a bag.
