How close together?

Can you plant 4 vfts and a purp 2-3 inches away from each other in the same pot?

You could with the vft's for awhile, but the purp will take over in a matter of time. If they're all small you could probably get away with it for a season.

what about just 4 vfts then? I don't really want to have a ton of pots but if that's what i have to do, well.

Well what size pot are we talking here? VFT's generally aren't too picky about being thrown on top of each other.

Yeah, just measure the edges. If it's circular measure across.
