I am new to the hobby and unfortunately have gotten bit by the bug. I started with some Sarracenia and quickly added about 8 different Drosera and 2 Venus Fly Traps. While I am over the moon with all of them I am quite partial to the Drosera. I have tried the pygmy variety of the Drosera and like having them but don't know if those will feature largely in my collection. I have been propagating the Drosera and love the leaf cutting method to get new plants. I have even been trying to grow my own moss. I currently have two Spider Farm Racks and while I use their grow lights that came with the racks - I have one shelf that I use for the mature plants that have 2 Vivosun LEDs. It is enough light to give the Drosera great dew production.

Looking forward to learning a lot - because there is a lot to learn.

My favorite Sarracenia - I got this from Mike Wang: S. leucophylla Helmut's Delight. Great guy to deal with.

Welcome to Terra Forums! :welcome: There are lots of archives here to look through and live people who share your interest in carnivorous plants. We have a need for more activity and energy so maybe you can help supply that. It's a great place, tho'.

Thank you bluemax.

Welcome to the hobby. I started with sundews as well before getting quite into nepenthes. It is a bit interesting how tastes change as we find our growing groove.

PraisetheSUNdew. I think that my taste will change over time as my skill level improves as well as my confidence that I won't kill a CP. When I started with the Sarracenia I thought those were the end all, be all. Then came sundews. Right now I am having fun nurturing mature plants, sewing seed and sewing gammae. This will do for a while anyway. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome! It’s always good to meet someone bitten by the same bug haha
I’ve learned a lot in here so I hope you have great time 🌱

Welcome! Hope you keep going with Sarrs too, they're a pretty big portion of my collection :D I filled over 2 garbage cans with last years dead growth the past couple days. Time to start dividing and repotting stuff!!
