Hello and !! Good looking plants, how do you manage them over winter so far north? Or is it more mild there than I think?

I'm in the southern part of the province so I'm able to keep them outside for about 11 of the 12 months. When we have cold snaps they get moved into my garage (alot of work). Plan on moving back to Vancouver Island soon, it rarely gets below freezing there so plants will be outdoors all year
