Hi! My favourite Heli grew a nice pitcher so I took picture. How long does it take for this species to build a woody stem?

ooohh! nice plant! I think I heard somewhere that this plant doesn't form a big stem in cultivation.. I don't know how long it will take for it to form one though.

I meant I don't think it forms a big one, but it does form a smallish one... I donno.

I have yet to see that "wooden stem" phase of H. tatei exhibited in cultivation -- only in the field, as an adaptation to being overgrown by brush. Perhaps it's only a feature of advanced age . . .
