Culture is what is important.. Don't get hung up on named varieties. How a specific plant grows for one person will not dictate how it will grow for another person with a totally different set of growing conditions.
Observe your plants. Compare to other growers. Always strive to learn from your results and others and make changes to improve the health of your plants. When your VFT is happy and healthy it will grow vigorously and rapidly no matter what type it is.

Like Tony said, growth rates depend on a large number of variables so its impossible to say which grows faster or bigger. But so you can get an idea, here are a couple pics of my green dragons after 13 months of growth: One years growth
