I've completed a small update that I don't expect you to notice, but wanted to let you all know I'll likely be doing a major upgrade to the next version very soon. So it's likely the forum pops offline, gives an error (or security notice) periodically. If you notice anything that persists, please let me know here. :)

Ok, I think I've got things all back up and running right. Still massaging a few things, but if you see anything "off" please let me know. Test it all out lol.

Edit: New "trending topics" side bar should update as we get posts going...

The chat is not new, it's been here for years. If you didn't see it before, then you had disabled it which you can still do. Click the 3 cogs at the top right of the chat box for settings and near the bottom is to disable it.
Also a couple items have been moved from the sidebar to the footer as a test so there are actually less things/less "busy" overall up there than before.
 
Thanks bud, should be the same unless i messed up recreating it... except dark mode is available (automatically if your device uses dark mode or manually acceptable).
 
The change of items in the side bar? Most should be very similar.... im waiting on how to make some aspects see through again so the back ground shows through like before.

No, the ENTIRE website. I didn't change any settings myself, so came on and there's a background and color format I don't recognize, headers are suddenly larger and there seems to be more emphasized subsections so it took several minutes to figure out what I was actually looking at. The things like reply and edit buttons below posts are also suddenly a lot less visible.

Like the white/grey background or the planylts in the background? Were you using the old blue theme? Thats feom the old software that I left hanging on a thread for a few folks that were using it, but its gotta go.
You can go to the bottom and check out the theme settings, the new theme should pull light or dark mode to match your "system" setting, but you can manually change it there. Light would be more like the old blue one. This light/dark mode is new with this new theme.
Outside of that, clear cache to make sure youre loading all the new stuff (hold ctrl and shift and hit r on pc)

There's a customize button but it doesn't have a theme change option. That pic you show, only the little toggle button on the far right is present.
 
Because there is only one theme now you don't have the theme selector that I have. But there should be the moon which would allow you to change light/dark. The light mode on this theme is closer to the blue theme than the dark mode. That wasn't available before and that's why I left the blue them available to choose from even though it didn't have the TF banner and many other things were not set up or functional.
If you don't see that, try opening terraforums in a private window, and it should show a circle which is half light and half dark to change the light/dark mode. If you see that there, then you need to clear your cache or do a hard refresh to force in the full new style to load to your cache. OR skip all that and go to your profile settings....

but I'd still want to make sure you have all the proper new style files loaded in properly to make sure it's all correct.
 
Opening TF in a private window does display the half light and half dark circle.
Clearing my cache and doing a hard refresh doesn't help.
Going to my profile settings is the only option that works in a regular window.
By the way, dark mode looks amazing to me.

I just upgraded the search engine of the forum with paid add on. Give it a spin, I think it's much improved! It even searches your messages, which is a much needed feature for me!!

In private window it will show half circle meaning "system setting" = will match dark/light of your OS. It will show a sun if "Light" is manually picked and a moon if "Dark" is manually picked. You can click on whichever of those is showing to change that. :)
 
Anyone wanting to play with the appearance more, I've made it so you can pick from a selection of color bars, if you don't like my green :(
I've also added a white/black background to use if you don't like any of the photos that are preloaded as the background :'(
If anyone has a cool photo they would like used as a background (It will likely be modified), feel free to send it to me and I'll have a look for possible use. It must be YOUR photo to submit it though.
Best place to make these changes is the buttons at the bottom of the page. Should be bottom left above "community platform by XenForo"
