flowering nep.

I have a Nep that is starting to produce a flower.
It is a Splendiana x (tiveyii x vetchii), thanks Mass!. I have no other Neps with flowers so the loose pollen (if male) is not a concern at this time.
My question is, should I cut the flower off, leave it to finish, wither and then cut it, or......
Thanks for any advice here, 'tis me first Nep flower!!!
I love this plant and want the best for it's longterm health.

I would say that if you do not know its gender, allow the flowers to develop to the point where a determination of gender can be made, for future reference. Then, cut it off if you wish. I have not seen any evidence that flowers are a serious drain on the plant's resources, presuming that it is in good health, of course. Allowing a female to set copious seed, on the other hand, might be costly in terms of allocating resources.

Thanks Paul, I will let it go until I can ID the sex.
The plant is in very good health and a favorite in my nep in my collection.
I wish YOU could take pics for me LOL!
