First time cephalotus grower.

Hi so I purchased a cephalotus black coal beach, not sure if any of you have this kind or not. I just would like some tips on growing and stuff, I know that it requires a winter domancy so I am good in that department but is there a certain pitcher size I should be expecting of the plant once it fully matures?

Any other tips would be helpful.

How bad is it if the plant isn't anchored to the soil? It arrived in the mail today and it's roots looksed like they had been damaged during transport.

If your plant is loosely attached to the soil but has its roots covered by it I would expect it to re-root itself given some time. If it is not attached at all then you should replant it, making sure the roots are under the soil. If that is the case you should expect a period of time will be required for the plant to recover. If it is not to be grown in a high humidity environment you will want to raise the humidity by a clear cover of some sort for several weeks, while the plant regrows its roots. For more general care I recommend this: International Carnivorous Plant Society

Wishing you success!
