First Sarr I've found in PA - Pics

elgecko

I've got a magic window!
I was at Pine Grove Furnace today enjoying my day off.
I have found D. rotundiflora here last year. I figure there is a good chance to find S. purpurea as well.
With the wife along I do not get to explore much at all.

I found this S. purpurea in Michaux State Forest, which is were Pine Grove Furnace is, but it was actually closer to a park called Caledonia. I only knew where to find it because of a co-worker has a cabin in the area and told me about the plant and drew me a map to it. This is the first S. purpurea I have found in PA since I've started to hunt for native CP's.

Very nice pictures.
I love wild cps. We don't have a huge variety here, but I ogle them every chance I get.

Cool! Which Pine Grove is that - near Harrisburg or up toward Wilkes-Barre?

your pics look better than mine did! Very nice. I'm still hoping to find some sundews or butterworts around here somewhere, too.

Nice photos!
