im not sure about the worms, but you can feed it dead insects.it's cooler to watch a live one go in and get trapped.

the wax worms wont work...they will either eat their way out of the trap(gruesome anole story...) or squirm out one of the sides. you shouldnt be feeding your VFTs anyway right now... its supposed to be dormant. go to the pet store and buy a few small feeder crickets and feed them that way.

Put a dead insect in a trap and it will open again in 24hours. It needs movement in the trap, or else it assumes it's caught an inedible object.
