Failure to thrive

So a capensis, after three years of doing fine, is beginning to die back and not produce the vigorous growth I've seen previously. It hasn't been re-potted for a couple years and I've heard that new medium can re-invigorate. Any thoughts on the need to repot? Or, how long does a regular little ol' capensis (typical) live?

have your conditions changed? always watered with pure water? a re-potting couldn't hurt!

they live for a very long time, in theory-indefinately. i've seen them with long, long stems that make them look like death-palm trees! they live a long time if cared for properly.
