experimentation with starts from leaf pullings

So, I am trying to produce starts from leaf pullings in reverse osmosis water with the addition of very dilute fertilizer. I have had good success with reverse osmosis water alone, but am curious if trace amounts of fertilizer may help the process. Has anyone else tried this? If so, what was your experience?

Ivan Snyder likes to feed Drosera leaf cuttings right after they are cut. He feeds them with fruit flies or freeze dried flies for reptiles. He normally starts his cuttings in chopped long fiber sphagnum. He says he gets good results.

You'll have to experiment on dilution rates. You may have to change your solutions periodically as you may get whatever muck growing from the fertilizers.
